Dive into the price list: the Lotus Eletre

A big SUV from a brand like Lotus. We still have to get used to that… For a more detailed presentation of the Lotus Eletre, we therefore dive into the price list.
When you say Lotus, you say lightweight sports cars with purposeful simplicity. Then suddenly there is the Lotus Eletre. An (admittedly relatively flat) SUV more than five meters long, two meters wide and a license plate weight of – don’t worry – 2,600 kg… An output of at least 450 kW (603 hp) ensures really sporty driving performance, but still.
From a business perspective, we understand the choice. Lotus has to make money and that is currently hardly better than with performance SUVs. Just look at the success Lamborghini is having with the Urus. Even Ferrari, after much grumbling, is also pinned. Lotus is now ready to start production of the Eletre. Anyway, let’s put one together for a closer introduction.
Lotus Eletre in three flavors
The Lotus Eletre is available in three versions: the “standard model”, the S and the R. The first two each have a system output of 450 kW (603 hp) and 710 Nm. That’s enough for a 0-100 sprint in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 258 km/h. The difference between the “standard version” and the S lies in the equipment. For extra sporty performance you have to reach for the R. It has 480 kW (653 hp) and no less than 985 Nm and has reached 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed is then 265 km/h.

Prices Lotus Eletre
Either way, the Lotus Eletre comes with a hefty price tag. With less than 98,690 euros in your pocket, you don’t have to enter the dealership. The Eletre S is available from €124,090 and the R costs at least €154,090.
The base version has a relatively limited list of options, so we’ll skip that for now. On the other hand, a brand like Lotus has shown that more horsepower isn’t necessarily better, so we end up with the Eletre S.
Standard equipment Lotus Eletre
Incidentally, the standard equipment of the Lotus Eletre is not meager. Some highlights: 20-inch alloy, nappa leather upholstery, matrix LED headlights, automatic four-zone air conditioning and the Lotus Pilot Pack with all sorts of legal and non-legal assistance and security systems.
The Eletre S adds 22-inch alloy wheels, light brakes, an active rear spoiler, soft-close doors and a premium audio system, among other things. The R expands on this with mainly extra sporty equipment such as Intelligent Anti Roll Control, all-wheel steering, Track Mode and the Carbon Fiber Pack.
Exterior decoration Lotus Eletre
We start with color. The Lotus Eletre comes in dark gray as standard. Another color costs at least 1,210 euros extra and then you get the car in black. If you want a “real” color, add 1,820 euros to be able to choose between bright red or green. Light gray and bright yellow are available for a surcharge of 2,060 euros. Depending on the body color, the Lotus logo is available in yellow and black or all black. These bright colors suit him best and that’s when we go for ‘Lotus Yellow’.

For 1,210 euros we exchange the standard rims for completely black specimens of the same type. However, the choice is huge. There are three other rims to choose from, almost all of which are also available in black or polished. That brings the total to no fewer than ten possible rims. The rim size is 22 or 23 inches and the surcharge is 1,210 to a whopping 5,690 euros.

The braking system is a technical option, but with these open rims you can also see it as a visual option. Lotus therefore includes them in the exterior decoration. The standard black brake calipers in green or red are available for 610 euros. If you add a whopping 11,680 euros, you get carbon-ceramic brakes with gray or yellow brake calipers. Those yellow claws look great, but given the extra cost, we’re going to stick with the standard brake kit.

Finally, there are the carbon packs. Bumpers and mirror caps are (partly) made of carbon for 4,240 euros, all sorts of other parts are also available for no less than 11,500 euros. We take the middle path.

Interior decoration Lotus Eletre
In the interior, we first decide on the seating: five “normal” seats, the same arrangement with comfort seats (wider headrests for 4,600 euros) or executive seats (6,660 euros), in which the rear bench is replaced by two individual sports seats. We opt for the comfort seats.

Standard for our configuration is anthracite gray upholstery. A free option is black with red accents. For 2,550 euros you get very light gray vegan leather with yellow accents or gold-colored nappa leather. We’re sticking with the standard upholstery.

We also swap the high-gloss black interior for the Carbon Pack (3,390 euros) and the steering wheel covered with microfibre (610 euros).

Lots of options Lotus Eletre
Finally the individual options. We tick the Intelligent Glass Roof (1,820 euros, without roof rails) as well as the driving dynamics package with steering rear wheels and Intelligent Anti Roll Control (6,660 euros). We leave the options Home Link (370 euros), UWB Key (250 euros), cameras instead of side mirrors (3,030 euros), the electrically retractable trailer hitch (1,580 euros) and the Highway Assist Pack (2,420 euros).
