Ever wanted to add a 1967 Ford Mustang to your classic car collection? The most iconic muscle car ever gets an electric makeover in a modern jacket. And not thanks to Ford, but because of a start-up. That makes every Tesla pale. Here’s the ’67 from Charge Cars.
Call the bank in advance to get a second mortgage. Charge Cars’ new electric car is as gorgeous as the 1967 Ford Mustang, but it’ll cost you half a million dollars to get your hands on this powerhouse.
Does Elon Musk need talented electric car designers at Tesla? Maybe he’s too busy on Twitter. At least they can learn something from this cool reimagining of this icon classic.
1967 Ford Mustang back as an electric car
Despite the vintage look This Ford Mustang from Charge Cars is indeed a state-of-the-art electric car. If you are looking for a car with something more edge than an everyday Tesla – and have 450,000 euros lying around – then the ’67 with four electric motors and 536 hp is an optimal choice.
According to the CEO, when the company Charge Cars was founded in 2016, the aim was to give electric cars a new face and a little more character. As far as we’re concerned, they’re in swing succeded.

By 2018, old Ford Mustangs were modernized with electric motors. Then the British automaker decided to build the ’67 from scratch. The icon at the moment muscle car currently the only electric car in development at Charge Cars, but they are hoping to acquire multiple licenses from vintage models. The new Tesla competitor will roll off the production line at the end of 2023.
The four powerful electric motors generate an impressive torque of 1586 Newton meters. The 536 horses under the hood accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.9 seconds. Unfortunately, with a range of 200 kilometers you don’t get as far as with a Tesla.

In contrast, the Ford Mustang 67 from Charge Cars is anything but inferior in design. The interior of the electric car is both minimalist and modern, and features a number of gadgets.
The manufacturer initially only wants to produce 499 copies, so you have to be quick. Check out some more shots of the Tesla competitor in the gallery below.
