Another new Chinese brand to Europe

Another Chinese car brand is coming to Europe. The company is called Zeekr and is part of Geely, which also owns Polestar and Volvo.
Zeekr’s CEO told Reuters that it plans to sell the brand’s first electric vehicle in Europe next year.
A new Chinese brand in China
Zeekr first comes to Europe with the 001. A model you may know as a Lynk & Co concept. This is an electric crossover currently sold in China already.

The Chinese electric car is almost 5 meters long and almost two meters wide. The powertrain consists of two electric motors that together deliver 543 hp and 700 Nm. The Zeekr 001 needs 3.8 seconds for the zero to one hundred sprint. Acceleration stops at 200 kilometers per hour.
For the launch of the model in Europe, Zeekr would be working on a new battery technology. The crossover can cover more than 1,000 kilometers with one battery charge. At least according to the manufacturer. How much that is in practice remains to be seen.
The Zeekr 009
Whether Zeekr will also ship the large MPV, the 009, to Europe is still unknown. This five-meter-long means of transport with a Rolls-Royce-like nose and a range of around 820 kilometers. The battery pack located under the passengers has a capacity of 140 kWh. The large battery is coupled to a 540 hp drive train, with which the 2800 kg colossus sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

The Zeekr 009 is currently not on the road – not even in China. Almost 40,000 001s have been sold to date. The price in China is $41,000. For comparison: The Tesla Model Y costs 40,000 dollars in China.
