You can buy a Dutch sports car for less than 15,000 euros

Autovisie is always looking for used cars for enthusiasts and therefore searches the lists on the sales site Gaspedal.nl. This time we found a Dutch sports car that you can buy for less than 15,000 euros: a Burton.

Officially, Burton is not a car brand, but converted classic Citroën 2CVs. The Zutphen company no longer exists. Nevertheless, more than 1,400 examples were sold and can therefore be found as used cars.

This makes it the cheapest Dutch sports car that you can buy as a used car, as the Donkervoort and Spyker are significantly more expensive.

A Burton is basically a Citroën 2CV. This used car has a 602cc petrol engine that produces approximately 29 HP. So there’s only one duck left underneath. One cannot speak of a real sports car, even if the convertible looks sporty and this model only weighs 620 kilograms (permissible mass).

The used car dates from 1984 and is therefore exempt from vehicle tax. According to the speedometer, the model has a mileage of 17,263 kilometers and the Dutch car also looks good in the photos. Incidentally, this example has not been driving around as Burton since 1984. The ad doesn’t say exactly when the conversion took place, but Burton has only been building cars since 2000.

The occasion found

With simple technology, beautiful design and open roof, it is a nice sports car for fun road trips on summer days. In addition, the car is not expensive, both in terms of purchase and in terms of recurring costs (insurance and maintenance). The used car found is offered for 14,9000 euros.
