This is the new Porsche Electster

Video footage has leaked of a new Porsche that runs fully electric. The model is the successor to the Boxster, but this name would be an illogical choice.

The name Boxster is derived from the abbreviation “Boxer” (from the boxer engine) and “Roadster”. That’s why we better call the upcoming model Electster. Although we don’t expect that. After all, the brand is not afraid to use the term Turbo for the all-electric Taycan. Boxster EV seems to be the most obvious name at the moment.

Electric Porsche Boxster

Whatever the name, it’s clear that Porsche is working on an all-electric successor to the current 718 Boxster. In the video you can hear the convertible driving past electrically and at the back we find an opening for what is probably a charging cable.

In some pictures we see that the Porsche has an exhaust. This seems to be a fake way out to deceive us.

The new Porsche Boxster still has a fabric top, but it definitely looks completely different. The front is more reminiscent of the Taycan, especially because of the headlights, the rear lights are narrower and wider.

Another electric roadster
