When we talk about cheap electric cars from China, you probably think of MG or BYD, but definitely not Nio. However, this manufacturer is busy with affordable electric vehicles.
This is not done under the Nio brand name, but under the Firefly and Onvo labels. Founder William Li previously told Autovisie. Both brands focus primarily on the European market.
Cheap Chinese electric car for Europe
One of Firefly’s cheap Chinese electric cars has now been spotted testing in China. In the photos we see a compact crossover that is still completely covered in camouflage.

What is noticeable is that the car does not have a large LiDAR sensor on the roof like other Nios. This of course saves money. After all, the car is said to cost around 200,000 Chinese renminbi. That’s converted into euros: around 25,500 euros. Do not expect the car to be delivered in Europe for this amount.
Nothing is yet known about the specifications of the affordable Chinese electric car. Want to stay up to date with all the latest automotive news? Then subscribe to the free Autovisie newsletter.
