Tesla engineer Wes Morill has urged Cybertruck drivers to please stop destroying their own pickups. Well, my own fault, big boy, Tesla!
Going back to the launch of the Tesla Cybertruck in 2019, designer Franz von Holzhausen threw a metal ball at the car’s “armored” side window. The window is broken.
Cyber truck with bullet holes
Years later, Tesla drove around a prototype with bullet holes as “proof” that the model could withstand a burst from a submachine gun. And now we’re complaining about customers destroying their trucks…
Imitations on YouTube
Because of course Cybertruck drivers will imitate Tesla’s stupid jokes themselves. There are YouTubers who shot at the pickup truck with (semi-)automatic firearms (turns out it’s not bulletproof).
There are also people who have thrown a steel ball at the window, who have tried to make dents in the sheet metal and who have hit the body with a hammer.
Leave the pickup alone
Tesla engineer Wes Morrill is calling now on twitter to leave the Cybertruck alone. “We have now proven that it is robust. Maybe he can just ride around freely now?”
Bizarre claims from Tesla
Tesla, of course, brought this all on himself, with his bizarre (and dangerous) claims that the Cybertruck is bulletproof and “apocalypse-proof.”
Cybertruck problems
Well, by the way, it turns out that the Colossus certainly isn’t indestructible. The Cybertruck’s hubcaps were found to be destroying the tires, having issues with the software, and causing the body to rust.
