The destruction knows no bounds: self-driving car bursts into flames

In San Francisco, a Waymo self-driving car was destroyed and set on fire by a group of idiots. Can we say that? Yes, we can say that.

If there’s anything amazing about people, it’s their (drunken) tendency to destroy other people’s things. We see it again every new year. And after a few football games.

Self-driving car destroyed

So it’s perhaps not surprising that a self-driving car had to survive in America too. A Waymo autonomous Jaguar I-Pace destroyed during Chinese New Year celebrations.

A group of people were setting off fireworks on the street when the Jaguar drove past. A number of revelers, encouraged by clapping, began jumping onto the “hood.”

The I-Pace was subsequently vandalized, the windows were smashed with skateboards and someone threw fireworks into it, causing the vehicle to catch fire and burn completely. There were no people in it.

Already several incidents

Some media outlets are reporting a riot against self-driving cars in San Francisco, but it appears to be just brawling. Although this is actually another incident.

There are several known cases when people blocked the passage of self-driving cars, jumped on the front lid, tried to get into the car and covered the sensors on the roof with cones.

Accidents involving autonomous cars

Well, autonomous taxis in California are actually quite controversial. Last year, a Cruise car (from General Motors) dragged a pedestrian about 20 feet after a collision.

A Waymo taxi in San Francisco also recently hit a cyclist. The person suffered minor injuries in the incident. The authorities are investigating. Cruise stopped all self-driving taxis after his accident.
