With its starting price of 67,995 euros, the Kia EV9 is not for everyone. But this year more Dutch people will be able to benefit from the generous space on board.
Because the Kia EV9 will soon be thousands of euros cheaper thanks to the introduction of a “short range” version. Although Kia certainly won’t give it such a negative-sounding name.
Two versions Kia EV9
There are currently two versions of the EV9 for sale in the Netherlands, both with a 99.8 kWh battery. The RWD produces 204 hp and has a range of 563 kilometers. The AWD delivers 384 hp and 512 kilometers.

New basic model
For the new basic model we assume a 76 kWh battery and a range of 400 kilometers. It seems logical to us that the future entry-level EV9 would have the same 204 hp electric motor as the RWD.
Also fast Kia EV9 GT
There is more news about the Kia EV9. We’re told a true GT variant is coming, with all-wheel drive and at least 585 horsepower.

Test site for vehicle-to-grid
The Netherlands will also become a testing ground for Kia’s V2G system. These letters and number stand for “Vehicle-to-Grid,” which simply means that a car can feed electricity back into the grid.
The benefit of this could be that an electric car can act as a “power bank” for your home.

Simple example: You have so many solar modules that you cannot use them up. You can then store the excess in the car during the day and take it out again in the evening or at night when the sun is not shining.
V2G technology could be part of the solution to our overloaded power grid, which experiences huge peaks in the morning and evening. Electric vehicles could help compensate for that.
