The new Ford Puma is all about the inside

The new Ford Puma is all about the inside

Eighty percent of people consider a partner’s insides to be more important than their looks. It’s a good thing that the updated Ford Puma has paid so much attention to this issue.

It is our duty to take note of the external changes too, so let’s start with that. As befits a facelift, the layout of the lighting units was adjusted (matrix LED headlights are now available as an option) and the bumpers were planed.

New interior Ford Puma

The most important news, however, is in the interior, where Ford has installed a completely different dashboard. It’s a pretty angular whole, with digital instrumentation that’s even slightly larger than the infotainment screen.

Instead of the Sync 3 software, the Sync 4 software now runs, which supports, among other things, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa.

There are no longer any physical buttons available to operate the air conditioning. Almost everything is now controlled via the touchscreen.

Two engine variants

Not much changes underneath. There are two engine variants of the Puma available in the Netherlands: the 1.0 EcoBoost with mild hybrid technology (125 hp) and the Puma ST (170 hp from a 1.5).

Electric Ford Puma

Later this year, Ford will introduce an all-electric Puma that will be called Gen-E. No specifications are yet known for the model, but we assume a range of just over 400 kilometers.

Smallest model available

After the end of the Fiesta, the Puma is the smallest Ford in the Netherlands. In any case, the brand’s model range has been thinned out somewhat. The price list only includes Focus, Kuga, Mustang Mach-e and Explorer.
