Price difference for used cars reaches new low

Occasions are popular and that means the price is quite high. However, the budget you enter will be reduced if you are looking for a used car. The result: The price difference has reached a new low.

The previous record was at the end of 2023, when the difference between the search and offer price increased by 830 euros. Now the difference is even greater, as the monthly report from Automotive Mediaventions shows.

Price difference for used cars

In January, the gap between search price and offer price increased by a further 886 euros. Because the average used car costs 23,786 euros. The average search price is 16,998 euros. The price difference is therefore: 6,788 euros.

Occasions, price difference, used cars

The increase in the price gap is mainly due to the falling search price. Used car prices have proven fairly stable over the past month. Only the search price for diesel rose. Search prices for electric and gasoline cars fell by 7 percent. SUVs also became 7 percent cheaper.

Popular Brands

The list of the most popular brands will not surprise anyone. Volkswagen, Audi and BMW are in the top 3.
