Why the Polestar 4 is missing an essential part

Of course, you never see a rear window in normal cars. A surprising design element with a useful function. We’ll explain why this electric car doesn’t have a rear window in this video of the Polestar 4.

The 4 is a fully electric car from Polestar positioned below the 3. Then why the 4? At Polestar, the number only indicates the order of introduction of the models.

The Polestar 4

The Polestar 4 is an SUV coupe silhouette, but significantly lower than the BMW iX2 competitor. The 4 Series also has slightly more trunk space and significantly more head and legroom in the back seat. This is because the absence of the rear window provides space to move the crash structure backwards.

Unlike its Bavarian competitor, the Polestar 4 electric car has a trunk.

Electric car specifications

In terms of powertrains, there are two variants of the Polestar 4 available. There is a single engine Long Long. This means that you have a 272 hp electric motor on the rear axle, which allows you to sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.1 seconds. The top speed of 200 kilometers per hour is the same as with the Long Range Dual Motor.

The fast version can cover 580 kilometers on one battery charge. Charging with 200 kW is possible on the fast charger. This means the Polestar 4 will charge from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour.

At the public charging station, the battery achieves charging speeds of up to 22 kW. The term “Long Range” suggests that there will also be cheaper versions of the Polestar 4, although these have not yet been announced. In China, a version of the electric car runs with an 86 kWh battery.
