Would the Pininfarina Classiche certificate also apply to this car?

The design house (and now also the car manufacturer) Pininfarina is introducing its own Classiche certificate for the many classic cars it signs. Which are they? The company is very selective in its approach.

To answer the question in the title: No, the Mitsubishi Colt CZC is not entitled to the Pininfarina Classiche certificate! The Daewoo Lacetti, Hyundai Matrix and Peugeot 1007 probably don’t either.

Two Pininfarina models

In fact, Pininfarina is currently only sticking its certificate on two cars, the Alfa Romeo Spider, which was built from 1966 to 1993, and the Fiat 124 Spider (1966 – 1985).

What does certificate mean?

What exactly does such a Classiche certificate include? That the convertible owner receives official confirmation of the chassis and engine number, original paint color, production date and more.

Cataloging the Pininfarina archives

Why is Pininfarina only coming up with this now? The company first had to digitize and catalog its (largely) paper archive. A Classiche certification costs between 300 and 400 euros.

The program will be expanded to include additional models. The coachbuilder claims to have more than 700,000 chassis numbers and more than 20,000 historical documents in its archives.

Advantage of a certificate?

One advantage of a certificate is, of course, that the owner of a certified car can prove that the vehicle is (largely) original and can thus guarantee a higher resale value.
