This is the actual range of the MG4

Electric cars usually consume more than the manufacturers state. The result is less good range than you might expect. This time we are testing the range of the MG4.

The difference between the stated WLTP range and the actual range is large for some vehicles. For this reason, Autovisie tests the actual average range in practice with the air conditioning and radio on. This gives you a better idea of ​​how far you can actually get with an electric vehicle.

MG4

Autovisie drives the MG4 in the luxury version. This costs 37,785 euros and has a 61.7 kWh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, enables a range of 450 kilometers.

The actual range

With outside temperatures just above freezing, the MG achieved a consumption of 18.5 kWh/100 km, which corresponds to a range of 334 kilometers. Excellent values ​​that give many much more expensive electric vehicles a run for their money in such cold temperatures.

When used less economically, the 204 hp electric motor between the rear wheels can sprint from 4 to 100 km/h in around eight seconds. Not long ago, that meant buying a GTI.

However, we saw the most impressive values ​​on the quick charger screen. Provided the MG4’s battery has been preheated manually, you can expect a speed of up to 140 kW, which decreases very slowly, allowing you to charge from 10 to 80 percent within 25 minutes
