Why the new Togg T10F is not an electric car, but actually is

A day before our interview with Togg CEO Gürcan Karakas, we received a strange text message from his PR representative. “During the conversation, make sure you say ‘smart device’ and not ‘car’. Mr. Karakas is very strict.” In reality it wasn’t that bad, but in fact… in all press releases about the Togg T10F, including the Dutch one, the word “car” is carefully avoided.
Togg will initially focus on the home market and then move to Germany and France. The company’s preference for CES seems to have a lot to do with how CEO Gürcan Karakas sees the car phenomenon, namely as an intelligent device. And that’s not just an empty marketing phrase, says the cheerful CEO.
The Togg T10F
Togg was founded in 2018 as a joint venture between five Turkish companies and the first factory opened four years later. The T10X and the new T10F were designed by Pininfarina and are based on their own platform.
The specifications
The T10X is an SUV in the C segment, which is now joined by a 4.8 meter long five-door competitor, the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Togg presents the T10F in three variants. The RWD Standard Range has 218 hp, a 52.4 kWh battery and a range of 350 kilometers. Above that is the equally powerful RWD Long Range with an 88.5 kWh battery and a range of a whopping 600 kilometers. The AWD Long Range travels 70 kilometers less, but it has 435 hp and 700 Nm of torque.

All Togg models can be quickly charged with up to 180 kW (up to 80 percent in 28 minutes) and feature a vehicle-to-load system. Inside, the driver can expect a 12.3-inch digital cockpit with a 29-inch infotainment display. The social media camera in the interior is very eye-catching. Connected to this is the so-called Trumore ecosystem, a mobile application that is intended to become a kind of everything app, including the ability to reserve restaurants, change the mood in the interior and collect points.
Togg customers who have given their consent will receive tokens for providing their anonymized data. There is also a kind of gaming element, as shown by Karakas on his own phone. He drove to Efes and artificial intelligence generated a unique “work of art” based on the route and the weather, among other things, which appears like a kind of Pokémon in its own database.
