This very expensive luxury brand sold more cars than ever before

Fewer and fewer new cars are being sold. Nevertheless, a luxury brand managed to sell more examples than ever before. Rolls-Royce sold more than 6,000 cars in 2023.

For a volume manufacturer like Volkswagen, BMW or Tesla, 6,000 cars are nothing. It is a record for the English car manufacturer of very expensive luxury cars.

Record for Rolls-Royce

Last year’s record (2022) was just broken. Last year, Rolls-Royce sold 6,021 cars. This year there were 11 more. This means sales growth of 0.21 percent. Because you can easily pay half a million euros for a model from the British luxury brand, 11 cars still represent considerable sales.

Rolls-Royce does not reveal the exact distribution of models and sales markets. The brand states that North America and China are its main sales markets. Sales are also increasing in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

The Netherlands

If we look at the Netherlands, fewer Rolls-Royce cars will be registered in 2023. 14 copies were registered in 2022. In 2023 that was one car less. A total of 1,531 cars from the British luxury brand are currently registered in our country. There’s even a new Specter on the license plate.

The most commonly registered Rolls-Royce in the Netherlands is the Silver Shadow. There are 421 copies of this model listed on the license plate. This means that 27 percent of Rolls-Royces in our country are Silver Shadows.
