Because of this price increase, no one actually buys the Honda anymore

If you want to buy a nice car in the Netherlands, you must have won the Staatsloterij or the lottery of life. Just look at what’s happened to the Honda Civic Type R now.
The Civic Type R, which came second in our Autovisie super test, is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 329 hp and 420 Nm. And for that he gets a BPM penalty.
Honda Civic Type R is expensive!
The latest generation cost 78,980 euros last year (which was already 19,000 euros more than the previous model) and as of January 1st it was… gulp… 88,560 euros!
In short, the Type R was already unaffordable and now it’s no longer affordable. However, it may get even more expensive as Honda is introducing a new variant called the S-Grade.

S-Class without any luxury
It is marketed in a limited edition and costs no less than 95,010 euros. What do you get for it? Not much, because Honda is completely reducing the S-Grade.
The version has no navigation, no air conditioning, no electrically adjustable mirrors, no parking sensors and no parcel shelf. And we’re not even there yet. The result is a weight loss of 50 kilos.
Still with manual transmission
By the way, the Civic Type R is always spectacular with its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and its top speed of 275 km/h. It’s also nice that it’s still equipped with a manual transmission.
