Driving is expensive, but with a few clever tips you can get from A to B cheaper. An easy way to save money is to fill up at a gas station where gasoline or diesel is cheapest.
MultiTankcard has researched the cheapest gas station in the Netherlands and is presenting the “Smart Fueling Award 2023”. In total, the company examined around 4,000 Dutch gas stations.
The cheapest gas stations in the Netherlands for gasoline
The cheapest gas station in the Netherlands to fill up with gasoline (E10) is Kuster Olie in Borculo (No, that has nothing to do with the editor). The pump is more than 17 cents cheaper per liter than the national average and you pay 1.7510 euros. If you fill up with 40 liters of petrol, you pay almost 7 euros less than the national average.
Fieten Olie in Uithuizen is in second place. Firestone Doetinchem is also very cheap and is in third place.
Kuster Oil in Borculo, Gelderland | €1.7510 |
Fieten Oil in Uithuizen, Groningen | €1.7521 |

The municipalities where E10 gasoline is cheapest are Wormerland (North Holland), Het Hogeland (Groningen) and Almelo & Tubbergen (Overijssel).
The most important tip for saving petrol or diesel is: Don’t fill up on the motorway. On average, gas stations not located on the highway were 15.2 cents cheaper per liter of gasoline last year, the figures show.
For diesel drivers
If you want to fill up with diesel, completely different gas stations are cheaper. First and foremost is Tamoil Sluis, but Scandinavian BV gas station in Denekamp and Roeleveld-Rolink BV in Denekamp are also cheap gas stations for diesel.
Tamoil in Sluis, Zeeland | €1.5461 |
Gas station Scandinavian BV in Denekamp, Overijssel | €1.5544 |
Roeleveld-Rolink BV in Denekamp, Overijssel | €1.5568 |
It remains to be seen how the price of gasoline will develop in 2024. We already know what the excise tax will be next year.
