A new Lancia Ypsilon is big news as we haven’t heard from the brand for a long time. The model attracted a lot of attention before its launch because someone parked the Italian in the water.
As a manufacturer, you have to do a lot of testing before bringing a car onto the market. Although waterproofing needs to be carefully examined, this swimming adventure is not an experiment.
Lancia Ypsilon in the water
The Lancia Ypsilon that was in the water is, according to the French regional newspaper The Republican a stolen car.
The car can already be seen completely without camouflage. This is undoubtedly not the way Lancia presented us with the new Ypsilon.
The rescue workers were informed about a car lying in the water around 7:30 a.m. The driver and any passengers were not found in the car.
It is still unclear why the vehicle was stolen and who stole it. It is very remarkable that an unknown car is stolen. The Lancia Ypsilon was not parked in an unguarded on-site parking lot.

👉🏻 This prototype without camouflage is a test in Montbéliard, without using Stellantis, and it is full in the Eastern Republic. However, this has not been confirmed.#Lancia #Ypsilon pic.twitter.com/mxNmIWJ9hL

The pre-production model is immediately reminiscent of the 208. This model comes from group member Peugeot and is supposedly based on the same platform as the Lancia Ypsilon. The electric vehicle will most likely have a 154 hp electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 51 kWh. According to the WLTP measurement method, you can drive 400 kilometers with it. It can only sail a few meters.
