There isn’t even a charging cable for the electric Maserati GranTurismo

There’s a new Maserati GranTurismo, did you know that? It looks exactly like its predecessor and Maserati has given it remarkably little publicity.

Maserati is experiencing a much-needed resurrection under Stellantis’ wing. Because with two very old models like the Quattroporte and the Ghibli it will never work.

Maserati GranTurismo Folgore

The breath of fresh air blowing through the Italian luxury brand can be felt in the MC20 and the GranTurismo Folgore, two fully electric sports cars. We haven’t seen an example of the first, but we have seen an example of the second.

Maserati GranTurismo

Dutch starting price

In fact, a Dutch price has already been announced. In the “land of a thousand opinions” the GranTurimo Folgore costs 198,350 euros. That’s a lot of money, but significantly less than what is charged for the other GranTurismo versions.

For comparison: The Maserati GranTurismo Modena and Trofeo cost 226,911 and 271,576 euros respectively in the online configurator. Both have a biturbo V6 with 490 or 550 hp.

To 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds

The GranTurismo Folgore has 750 hp and sprints to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds (!). The two variants with petrol engines need 3.9 and 3.5 seconds for the same sprint.

Maserati GranTurismo

Just under 340 euros for charging cables

What is particularly special is the fact that Maserati charges 339 euros for a charging cable. This is always checked in the online configurator, as is the so-called DC booster, which enables 800 volt charging (costs 2420 euros).

available colours

Something else to note: Black and white are the only two free colors. For matt gray you pay around 4,500 euros, if you want something different you have to spend between 18,150 and 32,670 euros.
