This Fiat Panda is for when you can’t afford a Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6

Why would you want a Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6? No idea. This brilliant Fiat Panda makes us even more excited.

What is it? According to the sellers, this Fiat Panda is the smallest six-wheeler in the world. They would also say something different, because Koch Klassik in Heilbron is the basis of the special pick-up.

Fiat Panda in a small edition

In the early 1980s, the German Horst Koch and his Koch car dealership were an official dealer for Fiat, Lancia and Ferrari. And he thought the Panda would make a nice base for a pickup truck.

The six-wheeled Fiat Panda was intended to be produced in a limited edition, but the project was stopped when one of the partners died. So this copy has no brothers and sisters.

I even visited the IAA Frankfurt

The car has just undergone a major restoration and is offered for sale… gulp! … 78,000 euros. That’s quite a lot for a panda, but this isn’t just any panda.

It was built in 1986 and even took part in the IAA in Frankfurt and the Geneva Motor Show that year. Originally the car was blue with a red painted cargo box.

No six-wheel drive

Mercedes-AMG – or actually Magna Steyr – built more than a hundred examples of the G 63 6×6 between 2013 and 2015. However, we can’t call this Fiat Panda 6×6. It is front wheel drive.

Four-burner engine with 70 hp

The car won’t be very fast, because the four-cylinder engine under the hood produces a modest 70 hp. Thanks to the removable Plexiglas roof panel, the cockpit is pleasantly bright.

All changes to the Panda were registered and approved by TÜV. The factory name on the license plate now shows KK Automobile, not Fiat.
