Used electric cars are also significantly less popular

Growth in the Dutch electric vehicle fleet last year was lower than in previous years. This can be seen, for example, in the number of funding applications for electric cars.

Volkswagen has even temporarily reduced production of the ID.4. However, it’s not just new electric cars that are less popular.

Used electric cars less popular

The market report from Gaspedal.nl and AutoTrack shows that there were also significantly fewer searches for used electric cars last month. In October, electric cars were searched for in 8.3 percent of cases when choosing a drive type. In November that is almost a full percent less (7.4 percent).

Gasoline is increasing in popularity for the second month in a row. There were also fewer searches for diesel and hybrid cars.

The average search price for cars has increased. An average amount of 19,258 euros is sought. The difference between this amount and the price of an average used car has narrowed. This is also because the average price of a used car has fallen slightly to 24,194 euros.

The most sought-after occasions

The top of the most popular brands and models remains unchanged. Volkswagen remains the most searched brand and the Golf and Polo are the first and second most popular models.

What is striking is that in the last month there have been significantly more searches for a BMW 5 Series, for which we published a buying guide last month. And the Ford Fiesta and the BMW 1 Series also enjoyed growing popularity.
