Affordable electric driving: This is the Renault 5 E-Tech

Renault is once again publishing some pictures of the Renault 5, which now bears the nickname E-Tech. This car is intended to make electric driving affordable.

The 5 will not be the brand’s cheapest electric model. The new Twingo will also have a fully electric drive in the future. The French promise to sell the car for less than 20,000 euros.

The Renault 5 E-Tech is significantly larger than the Twingo and will cost at least 25,000 euros. This is very affordable for an electric car.

The new photos show, among other things, the headlights, taillights and part of the hood. On the hood, where there is an air scoop on the Classic 5, there is a charging indicator that shows how full the Renault’s battery is. When the number “5” lights up, the car is fully charged.

The 5 will be available with two battery packs. The entry-level battery has a capacity of 40 kWh and the second variant has a battery that can transport 52 kWh of energy. With the large battery pack you can drive 400 kilometers according to the WLTP measuring method. This more expensive version will be available first. The 40 kWh variant will come onto the market later.
