Lancia dead? No, this is the new Ypsilon

Lancia, we haven’t heard from the Italian car manufacturer for a long time. Nevertheless, the brand is not doomed. The new Ypsilon is on the way!

Lancia is no longer sold in the Netherlands. In fact, the Ypsilon – the brand’s only model – is only available in Italy. The now 13-year-old car was modernized last year.

The Lancia Ypsilon is one of the three

In 2024, the current Lancia Ypsilon can finally be retired in Italy. It is said that the model is one of three cars that herald the “renaissance” of the Italian manufacturer.

A special edition

The first images released by Lancia of the new Ypsilon come from the so-called Edizione Limitata Cassina. 1,906 copies of this special version were built, which refers to the year the car brand was born. All Edizione Limitata Cassinas are fully electric. According to reports, the new Ypsilon will be available with internal combustion engines. It remains to be seen whether they will also come to the Netherlands.

We can’t see much of the new Lancia Ypsilon yet. In the clearest image, we only see a table, which is probably under the infotainment.

Lancia Ypsilon,

Lancia wants to give the car a “feeling of home”. The digital fader in the small part of the screen shows the word “Sala”, Italian for room. It is still unclear how Lancia wants to bring “the feeling of home” into a car with this Ypsilon and what exactly that means.

The new Lancia Ypsilon will be presented in February 2024
