Why Porsche is killing the Panamera Sport Turismo

Yo! We didn’t expect that, also because we of course live in a combination country. Porsche stops production of the Panamera Sport Turismo.

The Porsche Panamera has undergone an extensive facelift. The decision to discontinue Sport Turismo is striking. A variant that, in our opinion, sold well.

However, this does not appear to be the case internationally. According to Porsche, less than 10 percent of Panameras sold are Sport Turismos. That’s why it disappears from the market.

This immediately makes us curious about the Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo. Do they also have their heads on the chopping block? We’ll probably see it with the facelift.

Station wagons worldwide

In Europe we probably find it incomprehensible, but in North America and Asia almost no one buys a station wagon. They are usually not even available for purchase there.

The traditional sedan is enjoying significantly greater popularity on both continents. Furthermore, the MPV is still very popular in Asia, even in the more expensive segment, such as the Nissan Elgrand and the Toyota Alphard/Vellfire.

Long wheelbase Panamera

The still existing version of the Porsche Panamera is the long wheelbase sedan. It is not for sale in Europe, but it is in China. Even the BMW 3 Series, Peugeot 508 and Volvo S60 are delivered as L.
