Expectations for the Volvo EX30 in the Netherlands are high, even though its launch has only just taken place. New competition is also on the way. A cheap electric crossover from BYD was spotted in China.
The Volvo EX30 will also initially be built in China. After all, the parent company Geely comes from this country. The crossover will later also be produced in Europe.
Fang Cheng Bao Bao 3
The car that could become a competitor to the Volvo EX30 is this Bao 3. The model does not bear the “BYD” emblem, but that of Fang Cheng Bao, a sister brand of the manufacturer. Autovisie was able to announce last summer that BYD was working on the new brand. Nothing was known about models yet.

Nothing has been said about the Volvo EX30 competitor yet, but photos and rumors have already leaked. The car would cost between 200,000 and 300,000 Chinese renminbi. If you convert this into euros, it is between 25,652.93 and 38,479.39 euros. Those would of course be the Chinese prices. In the Netherlands, cars are much more expensive.
For comparison: The Volvo EX30 is available from 36,695 euros.

The Bao 3 will initially be Fang Cheng Bao’s cheapest car, positioned below the Bao 5 and Bao 8.

It remains to be seen whether the all-electric crossover SUV will ever be able to compete with the Volvo EX30 in the Netherlands. BYD itself is currently the only manufacturer brand that is sold in the Netherlands. In China it is a completely different story.
