Then buy! The cars of Rinus Michels, Bassie & Adriaan and more

Are you looking for a nice used car and want something other than a gray Golf or a colorless Corolla? Accelerator and Autotrack delved into their offerings and came across the cars of Rinus Michels and Bassie & Adriaan, among others.

There are half a million used cars for sale in the Netherlands, so potential buyers can easily lose sight of the forest for the trees. However, if you take the time, you can discover real gems like this…

Bassie & Adriaan mobile

“All memories!”, we thought when we found this Talbot Matra Rancho. The forty-year-old crossover looks pretty standard, but with a touch of yellow paint it can be transformed into a Bassie & Adriaan mobile.

By the way, we already mentioned the well-known Dutch duo a few weeks ago when Honda presented the new Prelude. In the early eighties, Bassie and Adriaan drove the Japanese coupe. The car was red with yellow dots and eyelashes on the pop-up headlights.

“The General’s” car

A 1991 Chrysler LeBaron with a famous original owner. According to the maintenance booklet, it is Rinus Michels, who as national coach in 1991 was primarily involved in the qualifying games for the 1992 European Championships. Michels died in 2005.

His Chrysler has barely been driven in the last thirty years as it only has 75,000 kilometers on the clock. There is now a LeBaron for 5,000 euros, but the Michels is more expensive. The seller wants 6,450 euros for it.

Army Hummer

In the headline of this story we’re talking about Rambo, but we should actually say “Terminator” because if there’s one car model associated with actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, it’s the Hummer H1. AM General built a civilian version at his request.

Lobster H1

After all, the Hummer H1 was initially an army vehicle: the Humvee. It goes without saying that the H1 isn’t very luxurious. Its 6.2-liter non-turbo diesel is loud, slow and mated to an old three-speed automatic transmission (!).

Canless Red Bull Mini

For more than twenty years, Red Bull has been sawing up the back of Minis and putting a large “can” on the back. This is not one of those cars.

Mini Cooper

Luckily, because someone can sit in the back. This Mini Cooper from 2002 costs 3500 euros. And this film can probably be removed…

Barbie Porsche

That’s what the folks at Autotrack are calling this awesome 911. What they apparently don’t know is that the sports car has a pretty legendary paint color: Ruby Star Red (now Rubystone).

Porsche 911

So go ahead, buy this beautiful 911 GTS for 219,900 euros.
