Hooray! The government will help you pay for your Tesla Model Y

The Tesla Model Y is very popular. He has consistently held top positions in Dutch sales. But it could soon get an additional boost because the government will co-finance the Model Y.

Because Tesla is once again juggling prices. The American manufacturer has almost started a price war by repeatedly deducting a few thousand euros from its starting prices.

Entry level version Tesla Model Y

Now it’s the turn of the entry-level version of the Tesla Model Y. It is immediately 2,000 euros cheaper and is therefore below the SEPP funding limit of 45,000 euros.

The base model of the Tesla Model Y is simply called Tesla Model Y, has rear-wheel drive and an excellent range of 455 kilometers.

Great range and performance

Above that are the Model Y Long Range with 533 kilometers and the Performance with 514 kilometers. The latter accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.

The price of both top versions remains the same. In the Tesla configurator, the Long Range costs 53,990 euros and the Performance costs 59,990 euros.

Grant for private individuals

Back to the entry-level version. Due to its new starting price of 44,990 euros, it is eligible for SEPP funding of 2,950 euros. And since the funding fund for new cars is still not empty, it might be worth ordering a Model Y quickly.

The funding level has been gradually reduced in recent years. Actually, part of this was supposed to be reduced in 2024, but the government recently put a stop to this. This year the SEPP amount is 2950 euros and next year too.

Falling demand

Demand for electric cars has been somewhat disappointing recently, not only because of the uncertain economic outlook, but also because of doubts about the future of electric car incentives.

Due to declining demand, Fiat and Volkswagen were forced to temporarily reduce production of the 500e and some ID models.
