This hybrid BMW with gullwing doors costs only 1/3 of the new price

Autovisie is always looking for used cars for enthusiasts and therefore searches the lists on the sales site Gaspedal.nl. This time we found a hybrid BMW with gullwing doors that costs just over a third of the new price: the i8.

The BMW i8 was presented as a concept car at the IAA in Frankfurt in 2009. When the production version went on sale in 2014, the car still looked like a study model. But nothing is less true.

BMW i8 for 1/3 of the new price

The hybrid BMW with gullwing doors is now getting a bit old and the prices for used cars have fallen significantly. Nevertheless, the model remains one of the most extraordinary BMWs of all time.

The new price of the cheapest BMW i8 as a used car on Gaspedal.nl is just under 56,000 euros. In 2014, 149,362 euros were paid for the car. This means a loss in value of almost 10,000 euros per year. Oh dear!

The BMW i8 has a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine and an electric motor. The two engines together produce 231 hp. The futuristic used car sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.

The used car from 2014 now has almost 170,000 kilometers on the clock. So you have to pay close attention to whether, for example, the battery is still working properly.

Occasion with double doors

If you are looking for a BMW i8, you will find models with lower mileage for around 10,000 euros more. Go for the most expensive ones that are on sale. Then you can spend almost 100,000 euros. In this case, this used car with gullwing doors seems like a bargain.
