Xpeng has a simple but ingenious solution for dangerous flying cars
Flying cars sound like the future – and it is. But the Chinese brand Xpeng has been involved in air transport for some time. Now the manufacturer has found an ingenious but simple solution to the danger posed by flying objects: crashing.
Even the brand’s propeller car is already available in the Netherlands. This could already be seen in the Westfield Mall and also at the opening of the first retailer in Rotterdam. You may be wondering if this is a real car.
Fly by car Xpeng
Xpeng calls the vehicle a flying car, but it doesn’t even have wheels underneath. The vehicle looks more like a large drone than a car.
Whatever type of vehicle it is, it is definitely something special. Xpeng even completed a test flight in Dubai with the X2, as the brand calls the concept.
A soft landing
The big danger with flying cars is, of course, falling from the sky. Xpeng has found a simple solution for this: parachutes.
In the video you can see the flying vehicle shutting off its engines and four parachutes shooting out of the vehicle. This causes the car to slow down and land gently on the ground. A clever and simple solution that works well with the lightweight flying car.
It’s still unclear whether Xpeng’s flying car will ever actually appear (in the Netherlands) on the road, “er, in the air.”
