Electric cars are boring and offer little experience! We understand that hardcore petrolheads think this way. But you can handle the driving pleasure, as the Toyota FT-Se reassures us.
In Tokyo, where a major auto show is taking place this week, it’s raining an electronic spectacle. Honda surprises us with a new Prelude and Mazda puts a beautiful sports car on the show floor.
Spectacular Toyota FT-Se
Toyota also focuses on sporty accents and produces this spectacular FT-Se. It looks like a futuristic MR-2, with the engine in the middle.

With rear wheel drive?
However, of course this does not apply to the Toyota FT-Se. It’s electric, its engines probably at the back, given the (digital) crossplates Toyota is sending out into the world.
Would GR become a brand?
What is noticeable is that there are no Toyota badges on the FT-Se, but rather GR logos. Would that be a clue? That Toyota is turning its sporty GR label into a DS or Cupra-like brand?

We wouldn’t be surprised if Toyota released a similar sports coupe in the future. The Japanese brand has been working on a sleeker image for years, including with the GR Yaris, GR Supra and GR86.
