Dive into the price list: Volkswagen ID.7 – new VW top model

Volkswagen has a new top model: the Volkswagen ID.7. With a look at the price list, we are introduced to the indirect Passat successor.

Just as the ID.3 is intended to be the electric alternative to the Golf, the new Volkswagen ID.7 is the alternative to the Volkswagen Passat. Especially as a sedan, because the new Passat is only available as a station wagon. However, the ID.7 will be positioned slightly higher, meaning it may even have to replace the Arteon in the long term. However, the Arteon remains available alongside the ID.7 for the time being.

Prices Volkswagen ID.7

This higher positioning is of course also reflected in the price. The discontinued Volkswagen Passat Variant currently has a starting price of 48,490 euros. If you save a little more, you can drive off in the Arteon from 55,790 euros or from 56,490 euros in the Arteon Shooting Brake. You have to save a little more for the Volkswagen ID.7: the price tag shows an amount of at least 63,990 euros.

Versions and standard equipment Volkswagen ID.7

The only caveat: so soon after its introduction, the Volkswagen ID.7 is only available in a well-decorated version: the Pro Business. Ultimately, further versions will follow, which will lower the entry price slightly. However, the position as Volkswagen’s new top model on the European market is certainly occupied.

This also includes extensive standard equipment. Some highlights: 20-inch alloy wheels, LED Matrix IQ.Light headlights, keyless entry and start, electrically adjustable and heated ergonomic front seats with massage function, heated steering wheel, 3-zone automatic climate control, head-up display with augmented Reality, extensive infotainment with voice control, 360-degree camera and assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control. Car2X technology is also on board, so that the ID.7 can communicate with (suitable) other cars and the traffic infrastructure.

Powertrain Volkswagen ID.7

There is currently only one choice for the drive. On the rear axle you always get an electric motor with an output of 210 kW (286 hp) and 545 Nm of torque. The battery always has a capacity of 77 kWh (usable capacity), which together with a WLTP consumption of 14.7 kWh/100 km ensures a range of at least 599 km.

Then we come to the body colors. There are five. In addition to the usual white and black, there are two shades of gray and dark blue. The default color is non-metallic dark gray. For white, black and lighter gray you pay 1,100 euros extra. If you want a little more color in your driveway, you will have to pay an extra 1,300 euros for dark blue. We will do that. There is no other rim choice, at least not at the moment.

Interior decoration

As standard you will receive the so-called black ArtVelour upholstery, a microfiber material. The microfiber upholstery, a different type of microfiber fabric, is available in either black and white or dark gray, each at an additional cost of 2,250 euros. If you opt for the optional upholstery, you get an interior package with front seat ventilation, rear seat heating, a Harman Kardon audio system, additional side airbags and a slightly higher quality dashboard paint finish at no extra charge. White upholstery quickly becomes contagious for dirt, so we go for dark gray.

Packages and options

Another option package is the additional exterior package, also for an additional charge of 2,500 euros, which includes a panoramic roof, progressive steering, an adaptive chassis as well as sound-insulating and specially tinted windows. Then let’s do this. The only two separate options on the list are a heat pump and a trailer hitch, both at an additional cost of 1,100 euros.

If we also check the heat pump, we come to a total price of 71,140 euros.
