If you think you’re good at parking, then you’re not a woman

The eternal battle between men and women over who can drive best will only end with the introduction of self-driving cars. And we won’t burn our fingers on this issue. Autoverzekering.nl examined men and women’s insights into their own behavior. And it turns out that men can actually do everything better, they think.
The research was carried out among a thousand Dutch people. Men and women were asked what they thought about their driving behavior. In short, take a few large grains of salt. The results of the study say nothing about the actual driving behavior of either gender.
Man or woman, who is best at parking?
The difference is not particularly big. The research shows that 81 percent of Dutch people consider themselves good parking drivers. 87 percent of men say they confidently pull into a parking space. 71 percent of women say they can do the same.

Women themselves – not our words – are also more likely to say that they can’t find their way around well. 92 percent of men say they can navigate well, compared to only 77.5 percent of women. Many women say that they would not have reached their goal without Google Maps (22.5 percent). Men are more confident in their map reading skills. Only 8 percent say they can’t get anywhere without Google Maps.
This group drives less fast
What is striking is that women think they drive safely almost as often as men, but they say they generally drive less fast. 44 percent of men do not obey the speed limit, while the figure is 38 percent of women.
