Dive into the price list: the updated Tesla Model 3

The Tesla Model 3 has undergone a facelift. By looking at the price list, we discover what the popular electric vehicle currently has to offer.

Tesla has sometimes claimed that facelifts aren’t that important these days, according to them it’s all about the software updates. But the popular Tesla Model 3 came under scrutiny this year. The most noticeable are the new headlights and taillights, but there are other news. The interior was also renovated and, if possible, made even more minimalist. Even the stems behind the steering wheel are missing; from now on you can operate these functions with buttons on the steering wheel. You can read more details about the facelift here.

Tesla Model 3 powertrains

The technology of the Tesla Model 3 has not changed as a result of the facelift, but it has already been regularly updated. Currently the choice is between RWD and Long Range AWD. The RWD is equipped with a 60 kWh battery and an electric motor on the rear axle that produces 208 kW (283 hp) and 420 Nm. The WLTP range is 554 km.

The Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD, as the name suggests, has a 78 kWh battery and an additional electric motor provides all-wheel drive. The system output and torque are 366 kW (498 hp) and 493 Nm, combined with a WLTP range of 678 km.

Tesla Model 3 prices

The facelift also comes with new prices. The Tesla Model 3 RWD is available from 42,990 euros and the Long Range AWD costs at least 50,990 euros. That’s slightly more than comparable pre-facelift versions, but the difference isn’t too big. In addition, Tesla’s prices change almost every month, so it may soon be cheaper again – or not. Tesla does not provide a clear overview of the standard equipment, but we now know that a Tesla is already equipped with all sorts of amenities as standard.

Outdoor decoration

Then it goes straight to the visual decoration. The facelift brings two new body colors: the dark gray and red colors are different than before. From now on, the exact hue of the color should change as the viewing angle changes. The default color is white. For dark blue and black you pay an additional 1,300 euros and if you choose one of the two new colors, 2,000 euros are added to the starting price.

There are two wheels to choose from, with the standard 18-inch aerodynamic wheels also new for the facelift. Transfer an extra 1,700 euros and you can opt for the well-known 19-inch alloy wheels. If you would like an additional set of winter tires, there will be an additional charge of 2,150 euros for both types of rims.

Interior decoration

The interior is almost completely black as standard. The seats, parts of the door and the top of the dashboard are available in white for 1,200 euros.

Separate options

Then there are a number of separate options. For example, a trailer hitch that can tow a maximum of 1,000 kg for an additional charge of 1,350 euros. In addition, it is primarily about automated driving functions. The Tesla Model 3 can be equipped with the Enhanced Autopilot for an additional charge of 3,800 euros. At the moment it can change lanes independently, “soon” also automatically park in and out of parking spaces and then drive towards you.

You can add full self-driving capability for a whopping 7,500 euros extra. Despite the name, what this means for now is that in addition to the features mentioned above, you also get traffic sign recognition. Only in the (long) term can this package actually be used to “automate the management of roads within built-up areas”.
