Dive into the price list: the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class can be ordered now. With a look at the price list, the new business sedan is introduced to us.

The E-Class from Mercedes-Benz has been an integral part of the brand’s model range for decades. A new generation of models is therefore big news. The new model has become even more of a smaller S-Class and has what it takes to become a success again. The new generation of models can be ordered now and that’s why we think it’s time to take a look at the price list.

Body shapes Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is only available as a sedan and station wagon. The coupe and convertible versions of the previous model will remain available for a while and will then be replaced by the new CLE Class.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class engines

There won’t be a fully electric E-Class – that’s what the Mercedes-Benz EQE is – but there will be electrification. The new E-Class is now only available as a plug-in hybrid. Ultimately, the model will undoubtedly have a full range of engines. There are two plug-in hybrid variants: the 300e and the 400e. The 300e has optional 4Matic all-wheel drive, which is standard on the 400e. Seen this way, there are actually three variants.

In all cases, the basic drive is provided by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine in combination with a 95 kW (129 hp) electric motor. The system output is 230 kW (313 hp) for the 300e and 280 kW (381 hp) for the 400e, with 550 and 650 Nm torque respectively. The 300e sprints to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and goes on to 236 km/h, the 400e does this in 5.3 seconds and reaches the “standard” speed of 250 km/h. The WLTP consumption is the same for both variants: 0.6 l/100 km.

Prices Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Of course, the starting prices for both Mercedes-Benz E-Class models differ. The 300e is available from 71,676 euros and the 400e costs at least 91,330 euros. Then you immediately get the AMG Line, but even compared to the 300th AMG Line, the price difference remains significant. It costs 76,490 euros, with 4Matic all-wheel drive 79,325 euros.

Equipment Mercedes-Benz E-Class

There are many beautifully decorated Mercedes-Benz E-Class models. We opt for a 300e in the standard Luxury Line and see what it has to offer. Of course more than enough, because there is no such thing as a pure E-Class. Some highlights from the standard equipment: 19-inch light alloy wheels, black imitation leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats, steering column and mirrors with memory function, 12.3-inch digital instruments, 14.4-inch central display, the well-known MBUX infotainment with 5G -Reception and free services for the first three years and finally almost the entire battery of Mercedes-Benz safety and assistance systems is available as standard.

Outdoor decoration

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is finished in dark black as standard. You can also choose between several shades of gray, brown, very dark blue and a kind of gray-green at no additional cost. White and red are so-called factory colors and cost an additional 1,198 euros. By far the most expensive color is Manufactory Plain Gray with an additional charge of 3,751 euros. In dark blue, the lines of the design disappear a little, so we now opt for what Mercedes-Benz calls “brown”.

We can replace the stock 19″ rims (left) with another design of the same size (right) at no additional cost. We are not. A final exterior option is an illuminated radiator grille for 484 euros, but we’re skipping that too.

Interior decoration Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The standard artificial leather upholstery can be exchanged for real leather at no extra charge. Small catch: an interior leather package is included for 2,783 euros. If you prefer a different color (very light beige or light brown), there will be an additional charge of 242 euros for both types of upholstery. A third option is Nappa leather, available in the same three shades. Depending on the color, this costs 1,210 or 1,452 euros extra, plus the leather package. We stick with the standard upholstery but opt for light brown.

The interior (especially the dashboard) is decorated with ash wood as standard. You can get Mercedes stars on the wood for 182 euros. For 786 you can exchange it for maple wood “in the style of a ship’s deck” or for piano lacquer with decorative piping. There is an additional charge of 242 or 182 euros for a suitable center console. The other center consoles can also be selected separately, but the expensive Superscreen dashboard must also be ordered.

We stick with the standard ash wood dashboard, but opt for the synthetic leather dashboard cover for 726 euros. Finally, the standard black roof lining can be replaced with the optional light beige seats, but we’re doing away with that too.

Packages and options

Then of course there are also all sorts of option packages and individual options for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. What we chose for our copy: extra tinted and heat-resistant windows (472 euros), seat heating and ventilation at the front (895 euros), seat heating at the rear (436 euros), the winter package (including steering wheel heating, 436 euros), a head-up Display (despite the proud 1,210 euros), the Burmester 4D surround sound audio system (1,392 euros), a built-in dash cam (242 euros), additional side airbags in the rear (436 euros) and a cabin air filter (242 euros).

Then there are many options that we have ignored. A selection of options: a panoramic roof (2,142 euros), a standard trailer hitch (1,180 euros) with the associated additional assistance system (424 euros), Energizing package (combination of individual comfort options, 3,993 euros), the MBUX Superscreen (1,815 euros). Euro), Keyless Go (1,537 euros), technology package with air suspension and all-wheel steering (3,388 euros) and many other things that you can enjoy are on the options list. For 605 euros you can even equip the plug-in hybrid with a fast charging system, even if that doesn’t do much for a plug-in hybrid.

Put together the Mercedes-Benz E-Class yourself

Ultimately, with “only” 6,728 euros in options, we created a stylish Mercedes-Benz E-Class in which you lack almost nothing. The total price with our configuration is 78,404 euros. How would you put together the new E-Class? Have fun with the extensive configurator at www.mercedes-benz.nl.
