Manhart BMW 2002 tii Alpina

In this article we will discuss the Manhart tune of the BMW 2002 tii. The classic’s power source is a 2.0-liter M10 inline four-cylinder, equipped with an individual throttle system and an intake manifold from Alpina.

Manhart has equipped the BMW with several upgrades, including a K&N air filter box and a new exhaust system. The result of these adjustments is a significant increase in performance. The original four-cylinder made about 130 hp and 178 Nm of torque, but thanks to Manhart’s upgrades, the power source produces 200 hp and 215 Nm of torque.

Of course, 200 hp doesn’t sound like a lot of power, but you have to remember that the BMW only weighs 990 kilograms.

Even though the weight is low, Manhart adapts the braking system. It is always advisable to repair the brakes of older cars. Not only because better brakes are safer, but also because the brakes on newer cars are less vibration-free and significantly improve the driving experience. The brakes on the Manhart BMW 2002 tii come from a 323i of the E21 generation.

The tuner gives the classic even more upgrades. The BMW gets a coilover suspension from KW, Alpina rims with 215/40 R16 tires at the front and 225/40 R16 tires at the rear as well as 25 millimeter spacers.
