That’s the cost of the cheapest electric BMW

Earlier this month, BMW showed off a new version of the iX1, the eDrive20. Now we also know how much the cheapest electric BMW costs.

Before the xDrive20 came onto the market, the xDrive30 was the cheapest electric BMW. For 55,127 euros you get an all-wheel drive car with 313 hp and a range of 439 kilometers. You can read about what remains in practice here.

You can now buy the new cheapest electric BMW for 48,316 euros. For that money you get a powertrain with an electric motor that is good for short-term peak performance of 204 hp and 247 Nm of torque. The BMW sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 170 kilometers per hour.

However, you won’t often drive this top speed with the cheapest electric BMW, because then you’ll never achieve the range of 430 to 475 kilometers. There is a 64.7 kWh battery pack in the floor of the BMW iX1, which you can optionally charge with 22 kW at the public charging station. Standard is 11 kW. If you want to charge your electric vehicle using the fast charger, this is possible with a maximum of 130 kW.
