Peugeot unveils the all-new E-3008. Although a renewal of the important model for Peugeot is already big news, this introduction plays a more important role than one might initially think.
The Peugeot E-3008 is the first model on the new STLA Medium Platform. And this is a very important platform for Stellantis. Why? Simply because the eCMP platform is very outdated and is known as a platform with small batteries, high consumption – especially in cold weather – and slow charging speeds.
The important role of the Peugeot E-3008
The Peugeot E-3008 is therefore the first car on the STLA platform, which should breathe new life into Stellantis’ electric vehicles. When we look at the specifications of the Peugeot E-3008 we see big differences compared to the models on this old platform.
Bigger batteries
There will be three versions of the new Peugeot E-3008. The entry-level car has a 73 kWh battery that will take you up to 525 kilometers. This version has a 210 hp electric motor. There is also a version with the same battery and two electric motors, good for 320 horsepower. According to Peugeot, this will get you just as far. There will also be a long range with a 230 hp electric motor. According to Peugeot, 700 kilometers are possible. The battery has an output of 98 kW.

Charging is possible with a maximum of 160 kW. That’s not slow, but it’s certainly not a statistic that will scare off the Korean competition, for example. It can charge with 22 kW at the public charging station.
design
The car is immediately recognizable as a Peugeot. It is noticeable that the SUV, just like the 2008, has three vertical LED strips, which in this case run directly downwards from the headlight. In contrast to the other models, there is a black stripe between the hood and radiator grille.

It is also noticeable that the radiator grille does not extend into the lights like on the 2008, 308 and the current 3008. Looking at the rear, we see that the roof slopes flatter than the previous generation and that it is an SUV design. Coupe-like has an ass. As with the current model, the reversing light is housed in the dark plastic part of the bumper.

When you look into the interior, the first thing you notice is a large 21-inch screen that curves around the driver. You always have this large plastic part in front of you, even if the entry-level model only has two 10-inch screens in this module.

It is noticeable that Peugeot no longer uses a large infotainment screen in the middle of the dashboard, but instead places a small display here. You will also find numerous physical buttons in the interior.
When is the Peugeot E-3008 in the Netherlands?
The new Peugeot E-3008 will go on sale in February 2024. Prices are currently unknown.
