When BMW announced it would offer heated seat subscriptions, social media was filled with angry and surprised reactions. Luckily, the Bavarian brand listens to customers, fans and journalists. You end the seat heating subscription.
The seat heating subscription is so controversial because you can pay for the function monthly, even though the hardware has always been in your BMW. A study previously showed that consumers have no interest in this at all.
No more subscription for heated seats
BMW is therefore discontinuing the seat heating subscription and also canceling other subscriptions. You can use all hardware features in your car at any time without having to pay monthly.
BMW will continue to offer “on-demand” software features
A subscription to the software functions remains in effect. Board member Pieter Nota said this in an interview with the British newspaper Autocar.
By the software functions that can still be subscribed to, BMW means functions such as parking assistance and driving assistance. According to the brand, this is accepted by customers.
