Mercedes-Benz will show a new concept car called CLA at the IAA in Munich. The study model gives a glimpse of what a fully electric version of the coupe will look like.

The future of the Mercedes-Benz CLA
Back to Mercedes Benz. Because it is striking that the brand is showing a new version of the CLA. After all, there will be no electric successors to the A and B classes.

The CLA has always had one advantage over the A and B classes: its shape. Teardrop shapes are good for aerodynamics and are therefore more commonly used in electric cars.
The new Mercedes CLA concept vehicle is even slimmer than the current model and has to be extremely economical with electrical energy.
Low consumption
The brand speaks of a consumption of 12 kWh per 100 kilometers. With a fully charged battery, you could drive 750 kilometers in an electric vehicle.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA has an 800-volt electrical system, which you can use to charge up to 400 kilometers in 15 minutes. That’s fast, but still a lot slower than a Chinese battery maker claims it can do.
In the concept car, the battery pack is coupled with a 328 hp electric motor. So no four-wheel drive with extreme performance. The car is designed entirely for efficiency.
Mercedes does not yet know when a new electric CLA is planned. It seems certain that the model has a future!
