The party for one of Ford’s most iconic models, the Fiesta, is over. The brand says goodbye soon!
This decision is not really new. We announced last December that the Focus and Fiesta were doomed. This is partly due to the strict safety requirements and the resulting increase in development costs.
Ford says goodbye to the legendary Fiesta
The Ford Fiesta was first introduced in 1976. In total, more than 22 million cars were built under the model name. There were eight generations of the hatchback.

The plug will be pulled on the model this week. On July 7th, the last fiestas will roll off the production line in Cologne.
Fiesta owners can now purchase a Puma replacement if they wish to remain a Ford customer. Even if the step to crossover may be a big one for some, the driving characteristics of this Puma prove to be very good. In fact, our testing shows that the Puma is a great replacement for the Fiesta.
Still, it’s a bit of a surprise that the beautiful hatchback is coming to an end. The production line in Cologne is to be used for the production of the new Explorer in the future. The Explorer is an all-electric car based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. There is a choice of all-wheel drive with 340 hp and two rear-wheel drives with 286 or 170 hp. Ford doesn’t yet know the size of the battery pack.
