This bizarre speed record was taken over by Rimac from Koenigsegg

Earlier this year, the electric Rimac Nevera took a slew of speed records from Koenigsegg. Well, the fight is far from over, as Koenigsegg has recaptured a handful with the now seven-year-old Regera anyway.
Two months ago, the 1900 hp Rimac Nevera set 23 records at once. It accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.81 seconds, needed just 21.31 seconds for the 400 km/h and also braked to a standstill in record time.
Koenigsegg took Regera out of the stable again
Koenigsegg couldn’t pass up this, because previously these records belonged to the small Swedish supercar brand. So Christian von Koenigsegg and his companions brought back the tried and tested Regera.

New tires and a better surface
Has Koenigsegg increased the hypercar’s performance or improved its aerodynamics? No, something much simpler happens. The Regera was mounted on newer tires, Michelin Cup 2 R, and released on a better surface.
The manufacturer found it at an abandoned airport, where a driver accelerated to 400 km/h in 20.68 seconds. And that makes the Regera 0.63 seconds faster than the Rimac Nevera.
What new records are there? From 0 to 400 km/h to 0 in 28.81 seconds and from 0 to 250 mph in 21.35 seconds. Eat that, Rimac! Or as Christian put it: “The Regera is still the king.”

Mate and Christian are friends
Rimac CEO Mate Rimac can laugh about that. On Facebook, he posted a picture of him and Christian with the caption: “We’re still friends.” But the fight isn’t over yet…”
The successor to the Koenigsegg Regera was Jesko
The 1500 hp Regera is already out of production. 80 copies were made. The model that takes over is the Jesko, which comes in two versions: Attack and Absolut. The latter is primarily about the top speed of more than 480 km/h.
