See how this Tesla beats all electric cars at the Nürburgring

Electric cars are usually fast, if necessary very fast. This Tesla Model S Plaid proves it, outperforming all other electric cars on the famous Nürburgring. With a time of 7:15.231, the EV can call itself the fastest production electric car on the track.

And that’s a hard-fought title. In 2022, for example, driver Lars Kern and Porsche Taycan Turbo S drove a record time of 7:33.35. They are now in second place among electric vehicles. If we also look at other powertrains and non-production cars, the Tesla is far from the fastest. The Mercedes-AMG One once achieved a lap time of 6:35.183 and the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo four years ago a lap time of 5:19.546.

Tesla Model S Plaid is the fastest electric car on the Nürburgring

The Tesla in no normal Model S, but in a plaid version with “Track Pack”. This option pack is not yet available in the Netherlands. Although you want it when you use the full power of your electric vehicle.

The track pack

The Tesla Model S Plaid has 1020 hp. With a zero-to-100 time of 2.1 seconds and a top speed of more than 280 kilometers per hour, you want the heavy electric vehicle to stop properly and have plenty of grip. For example, with the Track Pack you get carbon-ceramic brakes and upgraded pistons and blocks. The brake fluid is also suitable for circuit use. The top speed of 322 kilometers per hour is also unlocked. The complete track pack for the Model S costs just over 18 grand and is not yet available in the Netherlands.
