Robles again rejects the possibility that Feijoo can visit the troops deployed in Latvia

This is stated in a letter addressed to the deputy institutional secretary of the PP and member of the European Parliament, Esteban González Pons, who this Monday wrote to the Ministry of Defense to set the date of Feijoo’s visit to the soldiers deployed in the NATO mission on the Latvian border with Russia.

“Dear Esteban,” reads the minister’s letter collected by Europa Press. In it, Robles proposes to the popular a “extensive meeting” with the Spanish contingent now in Latvia after it returns to Spain. As he explains, this will enable the PP to get to know the mission “deeper and without time constraints or the rush of an exact visit and conditioned by the very dynamics of the area of ​​operations”. Moreover, Robles predicts that she will be “thrilled” to be able to accompany PP representatives to that meeting.

In the letter, the Minister points out that the Ministry of Defense feels “deeply proud” of its Armed Forces and assures that one of its priorities is to improve their capabilities and provide them with a budget in order to, “overcoming past times of underinvestment», they can fulfill the missions entrusted to them.

“That’s why I’m glad to know that you want to convey your gratitude to the members of the Armed Forces,” he replied to the PP when asked to visit the mission in Latvia. “I want to assume that your interest is extensive in all the missions that our armies carry out abroad and in Spain,” he replies.

In this way, Robles refuses second time Feijoo’s claim to visit Spanish troops abroad. The first was in february month, when he said that the PP leader would be “very well received” in any military unit “but not when operations are being carried out that could disrupt the visit”.
