Laboratory origin of the coronavirus not proven

According to the White House, there is still no clear picture within the US government about the origin of the corona virus. National Security Council communications director John Kirby, 60, said in Washington Monday: “There is currently no agreement in the US government on exactly how Covid came about.”

He had been asked about a media report that the US Department of Energy had changed its assessment of the origin of the coronavirus and now assumed a possible lab malfunction.

Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, made a similar statement on Sunday. What US President Joe Biden (79) wants are facts, Kirby stressed. “He wants the whole government to get these facts straight, and that’s what we’re doing. We’re just not there yet.”

China rejects report

China rejected the media reports. Beijing Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning, 50, said Monday that the search for the origin of the virus is a scientific matter and should not be “politicized”.
