She was a popular model in Asia and admired as an influencer by more than 90,000 followers. Now Abby C.* († 28) from Hong Kong is dead.
C. was reported missing last Tuesday. She remained untraceable. Police searched for her at the home of her husband’s parents on Friday. What awaited them there, however, caught the detectives completely unprepared.
The influencer was actually in the house, but not alive, but dismembered, as reported by the “South China Morning Post”. Apparently, the police officers first found two legs in the refrigerator. Next to it was the identity card of the dead and some other personal items.
The officers promptly arrested the in-laws and also took the brother of Abby C.’s husband. It is not known where her partner and father of her two children currently reside. He’s on the run.
In the meantime, the police have generously provided information about the found objects with the in-laws. “In the apartment we found tools needed to dismember a human body, including meat grinders, chainsaws, long raincoats, gloves and masks,” police chief Alan Chung said.
In addition to the legs, human tissue was also found in cooking pots, Chung said. Investigators have not yet found Abby C.’s head, upper body, and hands.
Both Abby C. and her husband’s family are very wealthy people. The former made a living as a model and was often seen on the Hong Kong red carpet. Her in-laws are big on the hospitality industry, owning in China, Japan and Singapore.
The case of Abby C shows that money does not automatically bring happiness. According to the initial findings, that was exactly what her murder was all about. According to police chief Chung, the 28-year-old and her in-laws disagreed over financial issues.
“Some people” were dissatisfied that C. regularly squandered huge amounts of money. According to media reports, the amount involved was the equivalent of 12 million francs. (ceded)
