Criminal Amin T.* (35) points the finger at the Swiss legal system: He is the Tunisian who was convicted of a number of crimes in Switzerland and was able to escape in Crocs when he got out of a prison car in Aarau on October 4. 2022. Research by Blick showed that he could be in Paris. This is because he uninhibitedly posts photos and videos of himself on social media.
After the Blick article was published, the fugitive even showed off two more photos on social media that were apparently taken in Switzerland! In the first photo you see him from behind, looking into the camera, holding the victory sign and walking towards a car with AG license plates. In the second photo, T. is standing at the passenger door of another car with an AG license plate.
Does he want the police to believe he is back in Switzerland to divert attention from his whereabouts? One thing is certain: T. looks several years younger in the two photos, so he will probably continue to live in France.
Have the Aargau researchers now informed their French colleagues? “Even though it is shocking that the person you are looking for is clearly from France and is smiling cheekily into the camera,” says Bernhard Graser of the Aargau cantonal police, “a report to the French authorities only makes sense if there is concrete information about a current place of residence.” However, this has not yet been the case.
We hear from T.’s environment that he keeps changing his mobile phone number. This makes it virtually impossible for the police to locate them – even abroad.
The situation is particularly unpleasant for T.’s victims – such as the ex-wife, who was seriously injured by the fugitive in the past. There is no police protection for them, as Kapo Aargau says: “The ex-wife and children are not under special police care,” says Kapo spokesperson Graser. When it comes to protecting victims, Graser continues, we work closely with the relevant specialized departments.
Perhaps the only chance that T. will be caught is mentioned by Sylla F.* (51) from Olten SO. He was previously threatened and beaten with a pocket knife by the Tunisian – and says: “Someone of his many friends should betray him.” But he doesn’t believe in it. And further: “He will never change and will always find a country where he can hide.”
