Is former Ukrainian intelligence officer Roman Chervinski behind the blowing up of Nord Stream?

What happened on September 26, 2022 at the Baltic Sea? The mystery surrounding the blowing up of the Nord Stream pipelines is still unsolved. Was it the Russians themselves? Was it Ukraine? Was the action carried out on behalf of the US? There are several myths, but studies so far have hardly produced conclusive results. Now there are new clues that lead to the Ukrainian special forces commander Roman Tscherwinski (48).

According to research by Spiegel and Washington Post, Chervinsky was a key figure in the sabotage of the pipelines. The commander worked for the Ukrainian secret service for years. As an ex-agent, he volunteered for the command of the special forces after the start of the war in Ukraine. In security circles, Chervinsky is known as the ‘coordinator’ of the operation in the Baltic Sea.

The former secret service employee is said to have formed and managed the sabotage team, which consisted of specialists. Chervinsky’s name is said to appear in several internal documents.

Ex-Secret Service agent is in custody

Cherwinski is currently due before a court in Kiev – but not because of the Nord Stream explosion. He is accused of trying to persuade a Russian fighter pilot to defect in the summer of 2022 without consultation. But the pilot did not change sides and passed on the coordinates given to him by Chervinsky to his colleagues. Ukrainian troops were stationed at the said location. Russian troops attacked the place – three people were killed.

The Ukrainian commander denies any responsibility for the act of sabotage in the Baltic Sea. When asked by “Spiegel”, he said through his lawyer that the accusations were “Russian propaganda”.

The Federal Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Criminal Investigation Department and the Federal Police are seeking information about the explosion. Chervinsky’s name does not appear. However, his wife is sure: her husband would never do anything that harms Ukraine. (jwg)
