A dog fell from the third floor of a building in Rome onto a pregnant woman (28), seriously injuring her. However, rescuers said the pedestrian’s life was not in danger. The fetus suffered no injuries.
For unknown reasons, the dog, a Rottweiler, fell to the ground on Friday from a height of about ten meters in a street in the center of the Italian capital. The dog did not survive the blow.
The young woman was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident. She suffered head injuries, as the newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reported. The scene of the accident was a side street of the Via del Corso shopping street in the Roman old town, which is popular with locals and tourists. Many passers-by were on the street at the time of the incident.
It is still unclear why exactly the Rottweiler fell onto the street from the third floor. According to an initial reconstruction by the emergency services, there were also some cats in the household. The dog may have lost his balance after jumping on the windowsill and falling. The owner is in shock. (SDA)
