Your neighbors or friends have asked you to have a hearty butcher’s meal. If you’re thinking of giving up because of the figure: It’s not necessary – even if you’re currently in the process of losing weight. It is very important that you choose the right flavors from the cutting plate.

Make the right choice

Sauerkraut can definitely be had without any hesitation. Leberli, a lean rib or chop without thick edges, is also a good choice.

However, you should be more careful about blood sausage, liver sausage and pork sausage: Blood sausage, with 144 kcal per 100 grams, is the “thinnest” of the trio. Depending on the manufacturer, liver sausage, creamed blood sausage and pork sausage have twice as many calories.

Conclusion: If you put plenty of sauerkraut, low-fat meats and a small piece of black pudding on your plate, you can definitely treat yourself to a butcher’s meal.
